From June to October 2017, I worked as an animator and digital painter on the 360-degree dome projected film, Silk Road: Past, Present and Future, with professional artist Calvin Chua. I was in charge of layout paintings, background assets, animated assets, and partial animation for layouts.
The following painting is designed for an animated fulldome projection. Frames make use of fading transitions to create the appearance of movement.
Here I was asked to imitate a medieval tapestry style in my animations. The camels have modular parts--camel, rider and cargo--that may be mixed and matched to produce a variety of caravans.
